What Is Aluminum Alloys?

Aluminum-based alloys, supplemented with a certain amount of other alloying elements, are one of the light metal materials.

In addition to the general characteristics of aluminum, these alloys have specific properties due to the type and amount of alloying elements added. The density of the aluminum alloy is 2.63~2.85g/cm3, and it has a high strength (σb is 110~650MPa), almost equal to that of high-alloy steel.

Its rigidity surpasses steel, and it has excellent casting and plastic processing performance, good electrical and thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and weldability.

It can be used as a structural material and is widely used in aerospace, aviation, transportation, construction, mechanical and electrical engineering, lightweighting, and daily necessities.

Note:

  1. When used for welding rods and surfacing, the beryllium content should not exceed 0.0008%.
  2. The beryllium content is added as specified and does not require analysis.
  3. Only when agreed upon by both the supplier and the consumer, the Ti+Zr content in extruded and forged products should not exceed 0.20%.
  4. The zinc content of the 3A21 alloy used for rivet wire should not exceed 0.03%.
  5. Only when agreed upon by both the supplier and the consumer, the Ti+Zr content in extruded and forged products should not exceed 0.25%.
