How to calculate the nominal pressure required by the press brake according to the thickness and length of the steel plate to be bent?

P=650S*S*L/v。

  • P: Nominal pressure kn.
  • S: Plate thickness mm.
  • L: Bending length m.
  • V; Notch width mm.

Where V is 8-10 times the plate thickness.

This force is related to the following aspects: material strength; bending radius; V-groove width; required bending length.

In fact, there are calculation formulas on the label of ordinary press brake. Ordinary low carbon steel is usually calculated according to the following formula:

Bending force = 65 × plate thickness (cm) ² × plate width (cm) / 8 ~ 10 times of plate thickness (cm).
