Hydraulic Press Brake

Hydraulic Press Brake

Factory Direct Sale Without Middleman

We have been manufacturing press brakes for nearly 20 years, and we are able to customize them according to the actual needs of our customers, regardless of their needs.

In order to ensure the quality, service life and processing accuracy of the press brakes, the main components of the machine are all international famous brands, such as Schneider, Rexroth, Siemens, etc.

At the same time, our press brakes are tempered and shot blasted, which most of our counterparts cannot do, and this is one of our advantages.

In addition, our professional after-sales team also allows you to use our machines without any worries.

How to Calculate Press Brake Stroke? (Tutorial)

A lot of press brake operators get very confused when they’re setting the stroke data (or the Y-axis data) in the press brake controller, especially for the old type press brake. They don’t know what exactly press brake stroke they should set, so the only way to solve the problem is by testing again and again.

Definitely, this is not the right way.

Here I gonna show you how to calculate press brake stroke length with exact formula.

Firstly, please see below the schematic diagram. I will take the data on it as an example.

How to Calculate Press Brake Stroke Length

And the formula to calculate press brake stroke is:

Stroke = Daylight – Middle Plate Height – Punch Height – Die Base Height – (Die Height – 0.5V + t)

For example:

Daylight: 370mm

Max Stroke: 100mm

Stroke = 370-120-70-75-(26-0.5*8+t) = (83-t) mm

Attention should be paid when choosing the die height:

0.5V< Stroke <Max Stroke

Easy? Try it out now.

P.S: if you want to calculate the required ram depth (or tool stroke) for bending a certain angle, you can use the following online calculator:
