For specific specifications of angle steel, such as 40X40 angle steel with a thickness of 4mm, the weight per meter can be calculated using its density ρ=7850 kilograms/cubic meter.

In addition, there are dedicated equal angle steel theoretical weight tables that provide the theoretical weight per meter for different specifications of angle steel, for example, the theoretical weight per meter for 20203 equal angle steel is 0.889kg.

The raw material for producing angle steel is low-carbon square steel billet, and the finished product is delivered in the form of hot-rolled shapes, normalized or hot-rolled state.
